Tier 3 Support Engineer / Industrial Software Implementation
Flex Metrics is looking for a full-time Tier 3 Support Engineer / Industrial Software Implementation Specialist in our Blacksburg Roanoke, VA offices. Flex is a leading provider of factory floor production visualization and decision support software with deployments on almost 1000 production lines at manufacturers across North America.
With your experienced technical skills, you'll be responsible configuring, deploying, monitoring, and upgrading Flex software and hardware for multiple client project engagements. You will provide client solutions for unique, challenging, and always changing manufacturing technology systems. This position also provides the opportunity to implement and configure the operational side of things like servers, networks, databases, as well as, systems integration, VS debugging, and system maintenance.
Responsibilities:

Software installation, maintenance, integration, and configuration of Flex software for our manufacturing customers

Enhance and extend a configuration, deployment, and monitoring framework for our hybrid premise/SaaS software applications.

Troubleshoot complex SQL and data replication issues, debug VS software issues, provide client resolutions for configuration, and data analysis.

Manage our client support system

Communicate effectively with clients to trouble-shoot, configure, plan, and implement enterprise software and solutions

Develop and operationalize practices and procedures as we grow

Conduct end-user training on our product suite and practical data analytics

Required Skills / Qualifications / Experience

3+ years’ experience with Windows OS and a SQL web operations background

TSQL / SQL Server configuration, installation, and maintenance

SQL Reporting Services

Knowledge of relational databases; cloud architecture; VMWare

Knowledge of network architectures, TCP/IP, and basic computer troubleshooting

Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and ability to manage to deadlines and complete client projects

Ability to articulate the benefits and tradeoffs of competing technology choices and approaches
-
Strong writing skills with ability to write clear emails that concisely explain complex technical issues to non-technical customer personnel

Positive and personable person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and ability to manage to deadlines

Ability to multi-task and engage on multiple projects simultaneously

Comfortable in a small, but high-quality team environment.

Experience/knowledge of manufacturing processes, work flows, Lean Manufacturing, and data analysis
